The Siberian Mammoth Ivory Dice
What would this extraordinary chipset be with just simple dice? For that reason we have created the five playing dice from the highest-quality ivory from the tusk of a Siberian woolly mammoth. The dice are precisely calibrated, hand painted and signed by the artist.
Why did we use ivory from the Siberian woolly mammoth? Because we are deeply committed to environmental and animal causes, we would never use ivory from elephant tusks in our production. However, mammoths are extinct and using their ivory does not pose a threat to any living animals. In addition, there are no legal restrictions on the import and export of mammoth ivory under CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora).
There is one very clear way of distinguishing between the two types of ivory. If the visible Schreger lines have an angle of less than 90 degrees, then it is a mammoth tusk; however if they are more than 115 degrees, then it is an elephant tusk.
